It is ‘No Effort November’! I first come across this concept in the Technology Connections YouTube channel. Incidentally, this blog also serves as a recommendation for Technology Connections, which is the perfect thing to watch in the winter months to learn about the glow of Christmas lights, or how dishwashers work.

In ‘No Effort November’, you produce content with minimal effort. As a long-time science communicator, I love it. There are always half a dozen blog drafts, video outlines, and ideas percolating away in anyone’s head. So this month, I invite everyone to participate in No Effort November.

It can look different for everyone. Publish that blog post without the added links, share the draft that’s not found its conclusion, film a video in your office with bad lighting and no make-up, write an opinion piece with minimal research. Maybe you post something every day, maybe you just make one thing, but in our AI supported world, I think there is huge value to throwing off the shackles of polish and sharing our more raw, and more human output.

I hope all science communicators join me for a bit of No Effort November
