Animals and Technology
How does technology influence the human-non human animal relationship?
The human-non human animal relationship is complex and multifaceted, spanning a huge range of species, contexts, and cultures. Often, interactions between humans and animals are moderated in some way by technology. How we talk about, use, and feature animals in online contexts, and how technology can facilitate human-animal interactions, is a fascinating topic, and one I love to research.

Note
The featured image on this page was created by Google’s ‘Pixel Create’ studio, a Generative AI image generator bundled on Google Pixel phones. I am generally against the use of AI generated images, but this was generated as part of a project in this research strand, and hence I am including it here. I have very mixed feelings about its inclusion.
